If you've been tagged or you are reading this, you have the honor of copying all these goofy questions, writing your own response, and tagging 25 other victims. You have to tag me so really you just need 24 more people. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you - but not in a creepy stalker kind of way.
To do this, go to “notes” under tabs on your profile page, paste these instructions in the body of the note, type your title as "Getting to know each other!", tag 25 people including me (tagging is done in the right hand corner of the app) then click publish.
1. What time did you get up this morning?
6:18 to feed the cat; 6:53 to feed myself.
2. How do you like your steak?
Very much, thank you.
3. What was the last film you saw at the cinema?
"Harry Potter And The Book I'm Still Reading" at the newly-reopened Cerrito Theater.
4. What is your favorite TV show?
Probably Northern Exposure, although 30 Rock is growing on me.
5. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
In a hovering saucer from which I could monitor my friends and drop whipped-cream balloons on my enemies. Lisbon would also be nice.
6. What did you have for breakfast?
Oatmeal with strawberries, granola and brown sugar; a cup of tea and a glass of orange juice. I really love breakfast.
7. What is your favorite cuisine?
Vietnamese. I can order anything off the menu, even if I can't pronounce it, and be in no danger of coming into contact with cheese.
8. What foods do you dislike?
Cheese and mayonnaise. About 60 percent of a Big Mac is worthless to me.
9. Favorite Place to Eat?
Beijing.
10. Favorite dressing?
I like honey mustard, both for what it is and the fact that it is what it says it is. Does ranch taste like a ranch? Does Thousand Island taste like an island? What's French about French? With honey mustard, you've got honey and mustard, and that's really all you need.
11. What kind of vehicle do you drive?
I'd really rather walk, thanks.
12. What are your favorite clothes?
Whatever Tim Gunn is wearing.
13. Where would you visit if you had the chance?
Australia. Jerusalem. Thailand. The Galapagos. And I keep trying to get to Memphis, but my every attempt has been thwarted so far.
14. Cup 1/2 empty or 1/2 full?
Half a cup is a useful unit of measurement.
15. Where would you want to retire?
Why would I ever retire? I'll keep writing until the pen drops from my wrinkled, palsied hands during my final agonizing death spasms. And that's not just because my 401-K consists mostly of IOUs, Monopoly money and lint.
16. Favorite time of day?
I am a crepuscular sort of fellow.
17. Where were you born?
Columbus, Ohio, in the heart of it all.
18. What is your favorite sport to watch?
There are sports other than baseball?
19. Who do you think will not tag you back?
Ned Ludd.
20. Person you expect to tag you back first?
My future self, who will chastise me for spending what could have been the best years of my life answering Facebook quizzes.
21. Who are you most curious about their responses to this?
I am curious to see how Donna will react to the grammatical construction of that question.
22. Bird watcher?
I like keeping a "life list" of birds. It's like collecting baseball cards, but cheaper. And there's no danger that your favorite bird will turn out to have used performance-enhancing drugs, or get traded to the Yankees. Although I wouldn't put it past Steinbrenner to draft a cassowary.
23. Are you a morning person or a night person?
I'd say I'm a twilight person, but I want to make it clear that I am not a Twilight person.
24. Do you have any pets?
I wouldn't be much of an arch-villain if I wasn't constantly stroking the cat on my lap and laughing manically.
25. Any new and exciting news you'd like to share?
Contrary to popular belief, not all journalists like to give away information on the Internet for free.
26. What did you want to be when you were little?
Batman. Although I would have settled for the Green Arrow. Definitely not Aquaman, though.
27. What is your best childhood memory?
Probably playing wiffle ball at the beach with my brother, my cousins and my grandfather.
28. Are you a cat or dog person?
I like cats that act like dogs, and people who act like cats. Dressing up like cats is a bit much, though.
29. Are you married?
No. I just act that way.
30. Always wear your seat belt?
Only when I am in my car.
31. Been in a car accident?
To be fair, not all of them were my fault.
32. Any pet peeves?
People who use Internet-speak in an inappropriate context lol.
33. Favorite pizza toppings?
Thinking about pizza makes me pine for the East Coast.
34. Favorite flower?
Rose McGowan.
35. Favorite ice cream?
Peaceful Meadows, although I have a soft spot for J.P. Licks. In fact, I believe that soft spot was caused by J.P. Licks.
36. Favorite fast food restaurant?
I will probably gain 200 pounds if Tim Hortons ever establishes a presence south of the border.
37. How many times did you fail your driver's test?
Some would argue that I should never have passed.
38. From whom did you get your last email?
The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget. Did you know that "the legislation currently making its way through Congress does not go nearly far enough in addressing health care cost growth"?
39. Which store would you choose to max out your credit card?
If the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget had a gift shop, I would max out my credit card there, purely for the irony. Irony is expensive!
40. Do anything spontaneous lately?
No, but I have something scheduled for 7:14 p.m.
41. Like your job?
My job is my job. It is not my life, and it doesn't define me. Sometimes it's helpful to remember that.
42. Broccoli?
I like what he's done with the Bond films.
43. What was your favorite vacation?
The first one. By the time they got to "Vegas Vacation," the series had lost its luster.
44. Last person you went out to dinner with?
Nam, who likes Indian food almost as much as I do.
45. What are you listening to right now?
The sibilant hissing of the voices in my head chanting "Punish them! Make them pay!" I usually don't pay attention to them.
46. What is your favorite color?
Violet.
47. How many tattoos do you have?
I used to say that I had Hervé Villechaize in the trunk of my car, but now I think that joke is in bad taste.
48. How many are you tagging for this quiz?
Just you.
49. What time did you finish this quiz?
Answering that question would say more about my work habits than I am prepared to reveal.
50. Coffee drink?
Yes, it is.
